Best Time to Visit info

Throughout the year. Monsoon is accompanied with heavy rains and can lead to landslides at times. Tourists usually visit Binsar and surrounding areas during summers when temperature soars in the plains. But the best season for Binsar is from October to March. During these months skies are clear on most days and Himalayan snow clad ranges are clearly visible.

What to do info

Enjoying the beautiful views of the Himalayan peaks is something everyone has to do in Binsar. Himalayan peaks are visible from various places in and around Binsar. However, Zero Point, located inside the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and the highest accessible point of the sanctuary, is probably the best place for these views. The Sanctuary itself is a place worth visiting. Tourists can take treks through the Sanctuary to reach some villages located inside the Sanctuary. Visit Kasar Devi, supposed to be one of the rare places on earth with high magnetic properties. This is the place where Swami Vivekananda did meditation for quite a while. Kasar Devi gives excellent views of Almora on one side and views of Himalayan peaks on the other side. Golu Devta temple and Bineshwar Mahadev temple are also quite famous in Binsar. There is a famous archaeological site from Megalithic period called Pariyadeva Pashan. Khali Estate, home to the erstwhile commissioner of Kumaon Sir Henry Ramsay, set amidst the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a nice refreshing place to visit for tourists.
