Mukteswar is a town situated in Nainital district in Uttarakhand. Situated at a little over 7500 feet, Mukteswar is a nice quaint place to enjoy nature and relax.
Jim Corbett, renowned hunter and nature lover, came to shoot a tiger here and fell in love with the place. He has mentioned about Mukteswar in his book “The Man eaters of Kumaon”.
The most commonly spoken languages in Mukteshwar is Hindi. Local populations speak Kumaoni language extensively. English can be understood and spoken by a very few people involved mainly with hospitality business directly or indirectly.
